NEWS AND VIEWS THAT IMPACT LIMITED CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT

power to endanger the public liberty." - - - - John Adams

ALERT - Lesbians need our help

Congress is obsessed with Lesbians.
The U.S. is totally bankrupt and sinking into a hole ten miles deeper than Greece.  Instead of real action on issues that matter the morons in Congress argue over "protecting" Lesbians.  If we had democracy in this country we could vote out both parties for their massive stupidity.

Ignoring the Constitution  -  A bi-partisan pandering for votes of Lesbians and/or women in general.
  • Both parties enthusiastically joined together to grow the Federal government with the Violence Against Women Act.  Never mind that violence against women is already illegal under state laws.
  • Congress offered Federal "protection" to 50% of the voters . . . . I mean protection to women.
  • The Bill of Rights and the 10th Amendment are ignored by both Democrats and Republicans.

By Gary;
The United States is beyond bankrupt, but the idiots in Congress spent their time putting on a show this week for the voters back home. Each party tried to out do the other in violating the Bill of Rights in order to prove that they care about Lesbians and/or women voters in general.
                                                                .
The "small government" Republican House of Representatives passed legislation that keeps growing the Federal government and reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) for another five years.
                                     .
Once again in a shameless pandering for votes the "small government" GOP voted to keep expanding the centralization of Federal police power in violation of the Bill of Rights and the 10th Amendment.
Members approved the bill in a 222 - 205.  That mostly party-line vote followed debate in which Democrats accused Republicans of moving a bill that would not offer enough protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, or Native American women.

Liberal Hand Wringing
                                                       .
"If a woman is in a lesbian relationship with another woman, should she not be protected if she's a victim of domestic abuse?" Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) said in mock horror. "If the woman doesn't have the documentation to be in this country, and … is here illegally, should she not be protected under this law?"
How could the world go on with Federal intervention?
The House bill, H.R. 4970, does not include Senate language prohibiting discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people under the law, does not go as far as a Senate bill to protect Native Americans.
Growing Big Centralized Government  -  When first passed into law, the Act provided $1.6 billion toward investigation and prosecution of violent crimes against women, imposed automatic and mandatory restitution on those convicted, and allowed civil redress (a lawyer's feast) in cases prosecutors chose to leave un-prosecuted.
.
The Act also grew the size of the Federal government and established the Office on Violence Against Women within the Department of Justice.
                                                                            .
In the 2000 Supreme Court case United States v. Morrison, a sharply divided Court struck down the VAWA provision allowing women the right to sue their attackers in federal court. By a 5–4 majority, the Court's conservative wing overturned the provision as an intrusion on states' rights.
                               .
VAWA was reauthorized by a "small government" Republican Congress in 2000, and again by a "small government" Republican Congress in December 2005.
                                                                               .
So much for all the bullshit about the Constitution.

A Time of Hope.
January 2011 was a time of hope.  The newly elected Republican majority in the House of Representatives insisted that the Constitution of the United States be read on the House floor.
.
Well mark that down as another fuck up.  Members read the Constitution, but it appears no one was listening to the words.  The Bill of Rights and Constitution has been gang raped so many times it makes your head spin.
                          .
Looks like it is time to break out my history books and re-read the chapters on the Fall of the Roman Republic.  Hail Caesar.
