RACIST cellphone stores opened by Verizon & Jennifer Lopez

"Blacks need not apply."
Verizon and Jennifer Lopez teamed up to open a chain of "Hispanic" cellphone stores.  In a multi-cultural society it appears Lopez and Verizon have no interest in attracting Black-American, Asian-American or Anglo-American customers into their stores.

La Raza???  -  Society tells us that it is racism to have an all-White or all-Black business.  But it appears it is just fine to have a business that caters to Hispanics and discourages other races from entering the front door.

As a businessman myself I am eager to take sweet, sweet dollar bills from my customers who are Black, Asian, Hispanic, Anglo or Purple.  Skin color means nothing in my business . . . as long as the customer's check clears.

The people of the United States have made Lopez a star.  Not just the Hispanic people of the United States.  I have enjoyed Lopez in movies and thus helped her make money.  So I take it as a personal insult that now she is rich beyond her wildest dreams she has no longer has any interest in me because of my skin color and language.

But Verizon Wireless and singer, actress Jennifer Lopez think skin color matters in business.  They have joined together in creating a U.S. retail distribution company that will offer Verizon’s devices in stores and online destinations designed to appeal to Latino consumers . . . . Black customers?  Lopez and Verizon are sure they will find some other place to shop.

The new company, Viva Movil, is majority owned by Lopez and represents a partnership between her, device distribution company BrightStar and Moorehead Communications, Verizon’s largest mobile retailer.

Its first store will open at an undisclosed location in New York on June 15. By year’s end, Viva Movil will have 15 stores around the country reports PC World.

At a press conference Wednesday at CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas, the partners said they are aiming at what they described as a huge and growing U.S. Latino market of 52 million.

Latinos in the U.S. have a population growth rate of 43 percent, far above that of the overall population, and have unique characteristics as consumers, said Lopez, who is also Viva Movil’s chief marketing and creative officer.

“We are bicultural, bilingual, and increasingly U.S.-born,” she said. “As modern Latinos, we do things differently, including how we shop for wireless devices.”

Hmmm . . . Latinos are somehow DIFFERENT from other races when they go shopping for phones.  Talk about pandering to the prejudices of potential customers!

Viva Movil stores will be designed around the way Latinos shop, with all-bilingual staff and features such as children’s play areas, because many Latinos shop with their children, Lopez said.

WOW!  I guess Asian-Americans don't shop with children.

She was involved in designing the stores and Viva Movil device accessories.

The company will also sell products through its Facebook page, where consumers can tell others about the products they bought and get personalized recommendations.

Viva Movil did not announce any brand-specific devices, though it has had discussions with manufacturers about that idea, said R. Marcelo Claure, CEO of Brightstar.

It also had no specialized content or software to announce on Wednesday, though it continues to explore that area, said Marni Walden, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Verizon Wireless.

Verizon does not have a financial stake in the company, but the partnership is exclusive. Verizon will continue to have bilingual Spanish-English staff in its own stores and in its customer support operation, Walden said.

Jennifer.  Just turn around and I will forgive you.

This nonsense has already failed and the New York stores have shut down. Good riddance.
