DHS installs spy scanners at shopping malls

Say Hello to Big Brother
Federally funded 1984 Surveillance State spy programs are
being installed in cites all over America.

Police State  -  Stop right now.  Pick up your phone and call both the Democrat and Republican National Committees.  Make sure to thank both parties for working hand-in-hand to grow and fund an unconstitutional spy system.

The next time you go shopping at the New Jersey Freehold Raceway Mall, keep in mind: Big Brother will be watching.

License plate readers — which record the license plates of every car that enters and leaves the mall — have been installed over the entrances and exits to the Freehold mall as a counterterrorism measure. They are the first to be installed at a major shopping mall in the state.

The township received a $285,000 state Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness grant in 2010 that funded installation of license plate readers at mall entrance roads reports the Asbury Park Press.

Officials with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office said the mall was selected because of its potential as a terrorist target.

“The Freehold Raceway Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in New Jersey,” said Cynthia Scott, spokeswoman for Sheriff Shaun Golden, in an email.

constitutional experts worry about what happens to the data after it is collected.

“Privacy needs to be protected not by banning the use of (license plate) readers, but by placing limitations on how long the records are kept and what they are used for,” said professor Bernard W. Bell, who teaches constitutional law and privacy issues at Rutgers School of Law-Newark.

“I think there is a greater understanding of law enforcement being able to intrude on your privacy for law enforcement purposes than in commercial entities intruding in your privacy.”

The Freehold Raceway Mall appears to be the first property in the state to utilize licenseplate readers.

A spokeswoman for the state’s other major mall owner, Simon Properties, said it has no plans to install readers at the entrances and exits to its seven regional malls in the state.

Big Brother Spy Street Lights Listen to you talk.
A Federal spy program that is fully funded by both the Republican House and Democrat Senate. It is a myth that the US has two political parties that oppose each other.
The Department of Homeland Security is funding the installing of spy street light microphones that are capable of listening to conversations in cities throughout the U.S.
.
The 1984 street lights, now being rolled out in Detroit, Chicago and Pittsburgh with Department of Energy backing, act as surveillance cameras, Minority Report-style advertising hubs, and Homeland Security alert systems, they are “also capable of recording conversations,” according to a report by ABC 7.
