Iran, Yemen, Egypt and other insanity

One Giant Clusterfuck!

  • It is so very, very familiar.  Like August, 1914 everyone is eagerly jumping into the pool of Middle Eastern death.  If we play our cards right we can bring about World War III.
  • But if a sensible politician dares to stand up and say, "Who the fuck cares about Yemen?" he is attacked as a "crazy" fringe pacifist.
  • So here we go.  Our "sane" leaders on all sides are escalating in the name of ???  Something.  Who the Hell knows.

The Iranian Navy departed for the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab Strait “in line with the country’s policy of safeguarding naval routes for vessels in the region,” according to state-run Press TV.

The Iranian government said it will observe international law while conducting a mission “to provide (safety for) Iran’s shipping lines and protect the Islamic Republic of Iran’s interests in the high seas.”

keeping the peace
Critics say Iran supports the Shia Houthis targeted by Saudi Arabia and its Arab coalition.

The Houthis deny they are supported by and receive arms from Iran.

On Tuesday the United States announced it is expediting arms shipments to the coalition and providing intelligence for a bombing campaign against the Houthis rebels who overthrow the government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi who was supported by the United States and Saudi Arabia reports Infowars News.
Ground Troops to Enter War
Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said on Wednesday ground troops are ready to be used in the Saudi war against the Shia Houthis.

Zayed Al Nahyan made the remarks during a visit by Yemeni Foreign Minister Riyadh Yassen to the United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi.

He also directly accused the Iranians for the conflict and said the Houthis’ overthrow of the Saudi-supported government in Yemen is part of an effort to export its Islamic revolution and expand its influence in the region.

At the beginning of the conflict late last month, Egypt announced it will send troops to Yemen in support of the Saudi effort “if necessary.”

“Egypt has declared its political and military support,” Sameh Shoukry, the Egyptian foreign minister

Would you die for a political hack?
In 1914 they were told by their leaders to march out and die to protect the "territorial integrity" of crap holes that no one had ever heard of and by 1918 no one even remembered.

.
And now every April I sit on my porch
And I watch the parade pass before me
And I watch my old comrades, how proudly they march
Reliving old dreams of past glory
And the old men march slowly, all bent, stiff and sore
The forgotten heroes from a forgotten war
And the young people ask, "What are they marching for?"
And I ask myself the same question
And the band plays Waltzing Matilda
And the old men answer to the call
But year after year their numbers get fewer
Some day no one will march there at all
